# Quests
quest is a task that a player may complete in order to gain in-game rewards. Rewards may include items or in-game currency.
Quests often fall into several types, such as kill quests, gather quests, break/place quests, and more.
There are currently 17 quest categories with a total of 1456 total quests. If a player finishes all of the quests, they will receive a special tag to commemorate the occasion. Rumor says that an admin is also willing to pay $10 million in-game to the first three people to complete the quests \[*update: as of 09.15.25, the first three people have already claimed this prize*].
Each player may start up to 4 quests at one time.
### How To
To start a quest, select a quest category and click on one of the quests that have an object in it. If you see a red terracotta block or a green terracotta block, those quests are either locked or completed, and cannot be completed again (each quest can only be completed 1 time).
To cancel a quest, click on the quest category, and right click on the started quest. **Note: canceling a quest in the middle of the progress will erase all of your progress!**
Bedrock players will need to use a command to cancel quests: **/quest cancel \**.

If you do the opposite of the quest (if you select a quest to break obsidian, but then place obsidian while that quest is going), you can see negative progress for your quest!
