# Premium Ranks

[**Premium Ranks**](https://store.mineseed.org/category/ranks) provide in-game perks for IRL money. You can get temporary access to premium ranks with in-game money in the [mineseed money shop](/mineseed/economy/mineseed-money-shop.md), but the permanent ranks are great since you also unlock access to discord's mineseed chat where you can talk with people who are actively playing in mineseed even if you are not online.

Note that the [Mineseed Store](https://store.mineseed.org/category/ranks) frequently has sales, and the rank costs are discounted on a regular basis!

You can also pay a fraction of the total cost of the rank if you want to upgrade from your current rank to the next rank. Just scroll to the bottom of the [rank page](https://store.mineseed.org/category/ranks).
